Jardín Deportivo is an inland residential area of Cabarete centred around the local sports park. It is more local in character than the beachfront, with lower rents and a community feel. Popular with expats who have been in Cabarete long enough to move away from the tourist strip and want something more rooted.
This area is where a lot of the long-term expat community ends up once the beach strip novelty wears off. Lower rents, more space, and a genuine neighbourhood feel. You know your neighbours here, you do not always on the main strip.
