Uvero Alto sits at the northern end of the Punta Cana corridor, past the main hotel zone and before Macao Beach. It is the least developed part of the east coast strip, which is both its main appeal and its main limitation. New residential villas and apartment complexes have been built here over the past five years, aimed at buyers who want Punta Cana access without Punta Cana prices. You will pay 20 to 30 per cent less here than in Cocotal, and significantly less than Cap Cana. The trade-off is infrastructure. There is no walkable town centre, no established expat hub, and you will drive 30 to 40 minutes south for most things: restaurants, supermarkets, schools and services. What you get in return is genuine beach access. Macao Beach, one of the few public beaches on the east coast, is a short drive north, and the shoreline in Uvero Alto is quieter than anywhere else on the corridor. For buyers focused on long-term value at the lower end of the east coast price range, it is the most accessible entry point in Punta Cana.

Who lives here
The expat community here is thin and scattered. Most long-term residents are property owners who bought for value, resort workers from the nearby hotels, and a small number of retirees who prioritised beach access over convenience. There is no established social scene in Uvero Alto itself. Most socialising happens by driving south to Bavaro or Punta Cana town. If you need an active expat community close to home, Cap Cana or Bavaro are better options.
